We're going to take a break from featuring new up-and-coming artists to do some reminiscing on one of Arizona's most treasured happy hardcore DJs who's about to make another rare appearance to the states. Along with other hardcore masters like Hixxy and S3rl, Dennis Horstmann aka Special D has produced some of the music my generation grew up on. Tracks like "Come With Me," "Here I Am," "You," and many more are some of the most easily recognizable early EDM tracks. On stage he outshines his peers by far. He is constantly updating his sets with remixes of new and old tracks (which he produces himself) and is constantly working towards his next big hit. This kind of music is what brought the Arizona scene to what it is today. Believe it or not, this used to be the music most DJs played once upon a time. Is it a little cheesy? Absolutely, but don't forget that the scene wouldn't be the same without its contribution.
